The Yeezy Calabasas Powerphase is set to return this week in three earthy tones – ‘Simple Brown’ ‘Clear Brown’ and ‘Quiet Grey.’
As someone who still rocks the black leather variant of the Yeezy Powerphases as beaters I must admit they’ve held up pretty well, with minor scuffs on the toebox and small tears on the insole I’d admit it was a good use of £80.
So you’d probably expect the same level of wear from the new trio releasing on Wednesday – Possibly. But unlike the previous Powerphase releases the new neutral pack will feature a suede upper instead of a leather upper.
I don’t doubt the craftsmanship and quality will be anything sub-par to the previous models. But I do doubt the durability of the new Yeezy Powerphase. Lets agree that with colder and wetter days ahead this time of year the Suede Powerphases are a no-no.
“Will there be resale value on these?” – No.
Also don’t forget that the Yeezy 350V2 ‘Citrin’ and ‘Cloud White’ are set to release next week, so it’d be wise to save your money for those instead.
Beautiful colourways perfect for Autumn or Early Spring but a shame that they’re made of suede and not leather.
Hopefully they’ll hit the sale section of retailers like the original grey and black Yeezy Powerphases of the past. Alternatively you could pick up a pair of non-Yeezy Powerphases in a similar colourway for around £50 / $62 / €57.
